The new collection VIL′NA (from Ukrainian “вільна” – free) S/S 18 by JULIA GURSKAJA reveals the inner and outer female beauty and helps to discard all imposed stereotypes of this society.
The character of this collection smoothly displays a resolution in response to any limitations and convictions. VIL′NA is a symbol of freedom. It declares to the world its intention to adhere to its own views going beyond the boundaries of this reality.
VIL′NA is about light dresses and sarafans, weightless suits, bombers and embroidered cloaks. Having caught the world’s trend, Julia Gurskaja uses transparent materials to give femininity and grace to every girl, whereas romantic styles and flower ornaments recreate magic in the streets of a modern city.
Exquisite flora symbols embroidered on lace fabric are one of the main decorations of VILNA. They bring images of mystery and correlate with the colour spectrum – steel shades and gentle blush.
The main idea of shooting VIL′NA S/S 18 represents freedom of action and choice, freedom of desires and possibilities. Transferring incomprehensible boundaries of inspiration through contacts, glances and gestures from generation to generation — from a mature aristocratic woman to a young and romantic girl. It is also an appeal to live to the fullest without limiting yourself, opening the edges of your soul without thinking about aging.
Halyna Herasimova (the oldest Ukrainian model) together with young and feminine Tamila Protsenko brought this important mission to life in the abandoned Ice Stadium VDNG in Kyiv. Their soulful fusion through the colour lines and crossed hands became a manifesto in the new collection of JULIA GURSKAJA.
VIL′NA is freedom beyond time and reality, which fascinates and attracts, expands borders of opportunities and desires.
